Choi's nails

I miss polishing my nails. It has indeed been awhile. I had some posts which were long overdue and thought I'd upload them whilst I try to find the time and effort to get back into everything. 

This one is China Glaze's Fresh Prince-ss, a lovely sweet pink.

The formula of this one is like most other pastel pale pink you'd find out there. Streaky at one or two coats and the third just about covers everything. The top coat smooths everything out.

Perrrrrfect!

But not quite yet. I've always liked the whole pink, white, gold and black combination. So I used all of those colours to add some freehand hearts and dots. Clearly still need a bit of work on the freehand stuff but I'm feeling the end look.

In this post I'm going to show you one of my many China Glaze polishes that I've had for a good while. China Glaze's Midtown Magic came out in 2011 and until this days the colour and formula is still in good condition. 

This is one of those not so boring dark colours. A very dark almost black base filled with a mix of bronze/orangey and green shimmers. I love these sort of dark colours with a kick to it. Spices everything up.

For my accent nail I wanted to add a stamping image, always the easiest way to add some fun onto your nails. Gold seemed like a good idea so I used the image of playing card suits from the Bundle Monster pates and stamped over the whole nail. I do wonder if that was too much gold though.

I've got here an ombre nail vinyl design to show in this post. Many times I've attempted to create designs with the nail vinyls I had but the majority didn't come out quite right. This one? Just about makes the cut and on top of that, hello holo glitter base!

Totally forgotten to blog about this one before we passed the new year. In fact I still haven't done my Christmas one. OOPS!

Here, all eye candy for you!

Glitter always adds such a kick to a plain manicure, it's like a party at the tip of your fingers. But it's the trouble of making the glitters look less clumped up on some parts of the nail that steers me away from doing this design more often. Sometimes over sponging can be a bit of a problem for me too. Despite that, my glitter tips attempt has given me a look I'd think was okay to show on the internet. I do think it looked better in person than in photos though.

We don't always have to write a whole story to accompany the pictures in the post do we?

I own very few polishes that belong to the orange family and out of those few China Glaze's Sunset sail is one I do use most often. It's actually more of a peach with some subtle silver shimmer and I mean very subtle that we'll need those macro lens to picture them. 

For this manicure I wanted it layered with some stamping images preferably with some shimmer or holographics but I gave up looking for one after not being to find one that I felt matched with this base. 

This next manicure was one of those I was eager to share. It feels christmas-sy to me and I bet that's because the polishes mainly came from the Autumn/Winter collections. Just the base itself I find looks gorgeous and I'm not usually a green lover. It also makes my skin colour look just the way I like it.

I've been loving the blue-purple combination these days so I decided to use those colours for this cloud mani.

Long time no gradient! Or that's how it feels. I wanted this one to be colourful, bright and bold but not every design would look like what you imagined.

Anyone remember when fish braid nails took instagram by storm at one point? I do. After trying it once or twice I never gave it another chance because I had a hard time picking which colours I should use for the fish braids. 

The colours chosen for this design all come from China Glaze and I do find they match quite well with each other. But this design makes me think of Autumn. Am I a bit too early?
