Choi's nails

I'm still trying to work this Nikon DSLR camera out but it randomly rotates my photos and made me realise the side pose doesn't look too bad. I've tried changing my hand poses and doing all that photo rotating myself but it just ends up with one word, awkward. The whole thing just looked awkward.




For this manicure you'll need:

• One coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's Protein base coat)
• Two coats of a lilac base colour, here I used Essie's Lilacism. Two coats would be ideal but Essie's Lilacism really needed about 3 to keep it from looking obviously patchy.
• With a Barry M's Sugar apple which is a pastel minty green, on one side of the nail. Give it about 10-15 minutes before moving on.
• Using random parts of the design from Moyou London's Mother nature 02 plate, stamp all the nails. 
• Apply a thin layer of Color Club's Million dollar listing shimmery top coat.
• Seal with your preferred top coat (I used INM's Out the door top coat)

For this manicure:

• Apply one coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's protein base coat.)
• Apply two coats of China Glaze's glittering garland as the base. This is a polish full of green and gold flecks in a dark green base.
• Using striping tape apply two vertically and three horizantally. You may want to adjust this step depending on how big you want the squares.
• With China glaze's Purr-fect plum and Swing baby - shimmery gold, paint in the squares and remove the striping tape. Make sure you speed up a little here, you don't want to remove the striping tape when the polish is too dry.
• Seal with one coat of your preferred top coat. (I used INM's Out the door top coat.)

I'm so over this so called summer we were having in the UK. Can't wait for winter to come around so I'll be sporting more of looks like these.

What do you think of this polish? Have you tried Canmake products before? What's your opinion?

Here is China Glaze's Bogie which is a shimmery eggplant purple. I had blogged about this one before when I first made my own lightbox. You could check it out HERE but those days were when my nails were close to nubs but not quite. I have since realised that I prefer my nails with a little bit of length.

The silver is China Glaze's Icicle which I use quite often because the shimmer is absolutely amazing. The colour just doesn't disappoint even if it's pretty standard.


Do you remember some of the first polishes in your collection or that you ever bought? What was it? Do you still have it?

The base is two coats of Barry M's matt white with Essie's Lilacism as the pastel lilac creme and China Glaze's Spontaneous being the darker purple. The leaves are painted with Essie's Going incognito.

I've been pretty fond of the Color club Million dollar listing gold shimmery top coat lately. It even sits on my desk top for close reach during a manicure session. It's showing up more subtle under the camera lens as I see less shimmer here than in person. I think zooming in a little gives you a better look at its pretty shimmers.



I keep wanting to recreate this in different shades, which colour should I do it in next? Blue? Green? ^^

If we can just forget the image for a second and look at home intense the base is. I don't wear oranges polish so often but this one is a good one. It's more of a red fiery orange but the shimmer and application was perfect and so clean ups went smooth too. I think I can show off a little and be like 'look at my clean cuticle line ^^'




The base is pretty fierce but now I look back I think it looked best without the stamping. Nevertheless they both look fine and I'm happy with it.

What do you think? With or without the stamping? What would you have done to this base?

I couldn't be more happier with the clean up and the formula was good to work with. Despite those I still wanted to add more and nothing felt easier than nail stamping. I do like to bring out my plates more than often even though I just have the two sets.

The design is from Bundle Monster's BM 203 stamped with just a plain black which darkened the look even more but it doesn't stop me from liking how neat it still looks.

I really don't see how easy she made this. Well, it is but I did have to go through a bit of trial and error before things started to look similar to the water marble effect. Either I've dug my toothpick a bit too hard that it has left a little gap, things are too well mixed that they look like a hot mess or I'll peel the polish off before it's fully dried destroying the whole thing.


So the idea is painting a base colour on some plastic wrap, I chose a clear pocket folder and painted one to two layers of Jessica's Velvet & pearls which is a black creme as the base. With Ciate's Ivory queen, an ivory with gold shimmers and Ciate's Members only which is a sheer nude with gold shimmers I added the polishes randomly onto the black polish whilst it was still wet and started swirling like a mad woman with a toothpick.


Okay, I could say the swirling was the easy part. The peeling, placing and clean up was a pain in the backside! I've seen people use a cuticle trimmer to poke things into place and trim the extra bits down before cleaning up. Even after doing so I still had a lot of work to clean off and with the choice of colour it really didn't make things easier.

This is the end result and I'm happy with the way it came out. (You should have seen the other attempts!)

I left this manicure without a top coat for a reason and that is for what you're going to see below. Randomly placed silver sun rays. The rays are place on the bottom half on the index, top half for the middle, right half for the pinkie and the full nail for the ring finger.


Almost forgot to mention but the shimmery silver is Ciate's Fit for a queen and the rays were done with sellotape that I spent time cutting nicely and making sure they were sized right.


This shade is definitely great for summer which I'll miss but I'm also looking forward to bringing all the winter and fall shades back out. I know I wear them regardless of the season but I'm excited to see what everyone else will come up with for the jolly season!
