Essie's Blanc with Barry M's Jewel Brittania

Going to keep this post short and sweet.

After wearing Barry M's Jewel Brittania for the first time last year for the Olympics, I knew I'd want to wear it over Essie's Blanc again but as a full manicure unlike the first time.

BM’s JB is a mix of different sized blue, red and silver hex glitters with small round silver ones floating in a pink base which is why the Essie Blanc I applied it over doesn’t look so crisp white. I used two coats of Essie's Blanc layered with two coats of JB on top because there wasn't enough glitters for my liking on the first.

I think I'll need to invest in a new white polish real soon, my Blanc is getting pretty thick and applies streakier than it usually is. I even had to redo my ring finger after smudging that one badly but everything turned out cool in the end.

Here's to remind you of the first time I wore BM's Jewel Brittania. You could even see how my photos have improved a little from the straight watermark to the blurry photos.

China Glaze's Lemon fizz and Misa's Pink cadillac water marble

It seemed a while since I last did a water marble so I pulled out some brights to match the sunny weather we were having in the UK at that time. I hardly wear yellow especially as a full manicure on its own but I do like to bring it out when it comes to nail art.

The base is China Glaze's Lemon fizz which is a bright yellow crème. Both coats applied with this polish was streaky, it would've been better with a third but since it'll be covered with the water marble design I left it as it was. The layer of yellow used in the design could act as a third coat.

The colour I paired Lemon fizz with was Misa's Pink Cadillac. Just tried to search my blog for a post to let you see how it looks on its own but it seems that I haven't done one. Oops. You can look forward to that one in the future ;)

Pink Cadillac is a lovely shimmery pink but it looks a little in the design because of the yellow it's mixed in with.

I didn't have high expectations for this water marble with the bright colours and new pattern I started trying out but everything came out neat and it started to grow on me. Very little mistakes too!

Essie's Sand tropez

Some of you might already be familiar with this shade since it's been talked about quite a few times. I'd still like to blog about it though just because it looks good against my skin colour even on its own. It's one of the first nudes I discovered that doesn't wash out my skin tone.

Essie's Sand Tropez is a ‘soft sandy beige’ with a runny formula. The first coat was streaky but the second was much better with just one or two streaks left. I'd suggest being careful with how much you load on your brush also when going over each coat since there's a chance the brush will drag the polish and leave those annoying empty spaces. That tends to happen to quite a few of my manicures whenever I come across these polishes.

I have two coats on every nail except for my index finger which has three to cover up a small accident; it was too obvious to leave it as so. I tried smoothing things out, it works most times but in this case it was better to add another coat.
