NOTD: Zoya’s Tru

As much as I liked my previous water marble nail design it had to go, not that I didn’t like it anymore but my notebook stated it was time to redo my nails. That’s right, I note down my next manicure dates to keep things organised and make sure I follow them otherwise I’d never ever finish my polishes since I have a bit more than the average person. Lucky there’s enough days and weeks in a year for me to keep doing my nails. I don’t really like to keep the same polish on for more than three to four days unless I love it or if my schedule doesn’t allow for a manicure because then it gets quite boring.

After my water marble manicure I wanted something plain yet not so much. I went with Zoya’s Tru next which Zoya describes it as ‘A saturated, red-toned grape purple with speckled shimmer that reflects gold, orange and red.’ Pretty accurate if you ask me except the shimmers becomes less sparkly on the nails.

This reminded me of how I felt with Zoya’s skylar. Maybe I’m looking for a bit too much from them but I feel the shimmers just don’t translate to the nails as I would expect from looking at the bottle. Other than that the grape purple isn’t bad to look at, it still is a nice polish. The formula was good to work with, a little runny though, just a little but it still worked out well with just two coats.

Overall it’s a polish that’s nice to have if you don’t have anything like it in your collection otherwise I don’t feel it’s too special. Since purple is my favourite colour this shade still managed to make me keep it on for a quite a few days.

What do you think of Tru? Do you own this polish or anything like it?

  1. I have this one, but I can't remember if I've worn it yet or not, haha! That stinks that the shimmer doesn't show up as well on the nails. I hate when that happens.
