Choi's nails

OPI's Ski teal we drop and CG's Icicle

This is one simple design but I've been longing to get this one done WITHOUT messing up. I can't tell you how many attempts I've had with this manicure because I can't quite remember myself but it's finally done!

The base is OPI's Ski teal we drop which is my favourite teal; still feel the same about it everytime it's worn. This one just never gets old with me. After applying some striping tape, I carefully painted half the nails with China Glaze's Icicle which is just a shimmery foil.

Definitely pleased with the overall look of this one. It still looked a little fresh even between 1-3 days of wear especially after a nail file down. Looked similar to how it was after it was first done.

Most times I like to picture the base colour on its own before I go ahead with any design just in case things don't turn out right. Experience learned from all the other times that it didn't. This is OPI's STWD without a top coat.

This one had smooth application and normal consistency. Like most polishes the first coat is sheer and but to a minimum, just a few patches here and there. There's no complaints after two coats because everything was covered.

Models own pastel fish braids - First attempt

It feels like way past the time where I should be posting about pastels but I just wanted to show off my first attempt at these fish braid nails. The method itself was much easier than I thought and even without the perfect brush strokes I wanted to do, the end look still impressed me.

All four polishes used was from the Models own scented fruit pastel collection of which I've done a seperate post of with swatches of the whole collection. You can check it out HERE. Please bear in mind that that post was done before I made myself a light box so the photo quality isn't going to be impressive.

I admit that the picture quality of these ain't so great. My photo box lighting went and washed out the pastel colours making them look even lighter but they're acceptable, right?

The base is two coats of MO's Grape juice and after waiting for it to dry properly, I painted a stripe of the following polishes in turn:

Strawberry tart
Banana split
Apple pie

All of them had the same consistency being sheer and watery which caused them to blend together a little. The middle finger is a little messed up in a way that I had to layer the polish on a little thicker and that'll be the downside for me with this nail design.

They all smelt yummy mixed together though that I could've almost eaten them!

Here's a photo of the fish braid design on just the accent nail before I thought it might have looked even better as a full manicure but I actually prefer this before look.

China Glaze's Blue years eve

Surprised to see a post coming from me? So am I. LOL. Autumn is here and the weather is becoming horrible but it'll be Christmas before we know it so I'm going to show you on off my favourite blues from a winter collection.

This is China Glaze's Blue years eve. A nice shimmery blue that looks glass fleck-y. My photos are a little inaccurate because blues never tend to look true to colour anyway but here it's not far off. Maybe just a little lighter here.

The first coat was just a little sheer and I was more than happy to leave it at two which is what you're seeing in the photos. Normal consistency, easy cleanup and lots of shimmer; I'm satisfied with this polish.
