Multicoloured, sponging striping tape manicure
Thursday, August 08, 2013
My last few manicures seemed a bit plain because of my colour choice so
I decided to make this one colourful! I ended up with good results with
my sponges the last time that I went and pulled them out again.
What I used/did:
- With the only white in my
collection I applied two coats of Essie's Blanc as my base.
- Next I placed pre-cut strips
of striping tape and place them randomly on each nail.
- Using the sponge I dabbed
each colour in turn on the nails.
- The different colours I used
include:
CG's Lemon fizz - Pastel yellow crème
CG's Electric beat - Periwinkle blue crème
Misa's Good to be green - Apple green crème
Color club's Blushing rose - Pastel pink crème
Color Club's Blue-ming - Pastel turquoise crème leaning more to the blue side
CG's Fuchsia fanatic - Bright fuchsia pink crème - Gently but quickly I removed the striping tape and went ahead with the usual clean-up.
The overall results looked fun. The colours didn't look like they
blended together but that was most probably because of how many different
polishes I used and not being able to use the top coat on it right after. My
INM out the door top coat likes to smudge or as I also like to describe it
'melt' the polish which helps in making it look more smoothly blended when it
comes to these designs.
What do you think about these nails? What are you sporting on your nails
today? :)

I love the fun mix of color. I need to try sponging again. Hopefully, it will turn out better than the last time.
