Choi's nails

I don't really wear a lot of copper bronze shades but this glitter looked amazing. Maybelline's Bronze me up is more like an orange copper which helps it pop a bit more against Maybelline's Nude in your flesh. You may need to do some extra patching here and there to get the glitter portions looking right around the tip area.


Look at it in the bottle! Gorgeous. Hows everyone handling the weather change from Summer to fall? Like it? Hate it?

Here’s one of the fall polishes I hauled months ago from China Glaze’s on safari collection.

Purr-fect plum looks like a deep burgundy wine but in some light settings it shows up purple, that berry/plum colour. The bottle shade is a little deceiving, I chose Purr-fect plum thinking it’ll turn out to be that typical purple eggplant colour but it definitely dries much darker on the nails. I still liked it even though it’s not entirely original.


This shade was quite dense, not as much as Adventure red-y from the same collection so I wouldn’t say it’s enough to get away with one coat, two would be ideal here. The formula feels a little thicker than usual but not to the point where you find it hard to work with, it still goes on smooth.

I like to do water marble designs now and then but not every polish is right for this nail art method. I’d say most of the ones from the safari collection wouldn’t be appropriate for it considering their thick consistency might not spread nicely in the water. I’ve given one of the polishes a try and it didn’t really work out well; don’t remember exactly which one though.

P.s The China Glaze fast forward top coat may not be the best out there but I do think it provides a nice glossy finish. Can you see the lovely blue sky and fluffy white clouds on my nails in the second picture? :D

I’ve been putting off making this post for five days already especially the last two days. Getting back to work after my two weeks off has made me feel like I’ve been kicked 50 times. Finally pushed myself to do some typing before I remove what’s currently on my nails, Orly’s smolder.

Orly describes this one as a deep wine shimmer. In my words I’d say smolder is a lovely deep, shimmery purple-ish red. This is the first Orly I own and tried and so far I like it. I just wished it looked amazing in every lighting rather than appearing a little dark in some other than that it’s still really good in my books.

I Google searched the definition of Smolder and apparently it means to burn with little smoke and no flame. It explains why the colour appears slightly dark but still has that shimmer and fieriness to it. I looked for some images too but most of what came up was Flynn Rider’s smolder look from the Disney animation Tangled which I found pretty funny (Awesome film, one of my favourite Disney movies!)

The formula was slightly runny but overall the application wasn’t bad. After the first few strokes I’ve already decided I was going to keep purchasing this brand. I used two coats of smolder but you could easily get away with one if you did a slightly thick coat, just slightly though since it’s kind of close to opaque. I had no problem removing this one, at the end my whole cotton pad looked purple and there wasn’t really any staining either.

I took a ridiculous amount of photos but cut it down to a little less than a dozen. Please enjoy :)

First off I have to say my photos aren’t good quality here. It’s slightly blurry and I only realised this after looking at it on the computer screen. Bummer! Regardless I do like this shade though. I also heard it’s a dupe for Chanel’s Paradoxal but I can’t comment on their similarity because I don’t own the Chanel polish. I don’t own any in fact, I can’t find myself spending so much on a polish, yet.

It’s been way too long since I’ve worn a red or at least it feels like it. I miss wearing them especially those vampy ones besides I have quite a few waiting to be worn so I picked whichever was closest to me and slapped it on for the next day at work. This one didn’t disappoint in the end, the opacity was by far one of the best I’ve come across from China Glaze.

This polish is definitely a one coater, I applied two coats but one really doesn’t look far off from what you’re seeing in the photos. The formula was slightly thick though so working fast and loading your brush with a little more would help otherwise you’d end up dragging the polish which I did at some point. Partly the reason why I ended up adding another coat but I’d say one is really all you need.
