Glitter always adds such a kick to a plain manicure, it's like a party at the tip of your fingers. But it's the trouble of making the glitters look less clumped up on some parts of the nail that steers me away from doing this design more often. Sometimes over sponging can be a bit of a problem for me too. Despite that, my glitter tips attempt has given me a look I'd think was okay to show on the internet. I do think it looked better in person than in photos though.
For this manicure you'll need:
- One coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's Protein base coat)
- Apply two coats Orly's Rapture.
- With a sponge gently dab a Orly's Flare - Gold shimmer and China Glaze's I'm not lion - Gold glitter at the tips of the nail.
- When you feel they've been sponged evenly and you're satisfied with what it looks like, seal with one coat of your preferred top coat. (I use INM's Out the door.)

I had purchases this Alexa Chung collection set from Nails Inc a while ago whilst they were having their sales and this is the first time trying out their polishes in the new bottles.
If you had owned some polishes from their previous lines you would know or might have seen their old round bottles so the change here is pretty obvious. But I do like this change, in fact I prefer their new packaging because it's just much more snazzy.
This polish is Alexa Pink cashmere. From the bottle it's more like a shimmery pink but only after applying I realised it's one of those textured polished. The subtle textured ones. I must have missed out that part of the description somewhere because that came as a little surprise. Not so much of a texture polished person but with it not looking and feeling as rough as the others then this one I can accept.
This collection carries some large glitter top coats like this one. Alexa Heart and it's pretty much the one best matched to the base in my opinion but you will need to manually place each one. To save time, I placed it only on the ring finger nail in a flower shape and let the rest be.
Still 50/50 with this one and even though the glitter polish is little bit of a hassle for me it's still very pretty in bottle. Meh.

Second post in one day to make up for my lack of posting. I'm being a bit too hard working today. Ha!
The polishes used for this post all come from Color Club that I purchased a while while back. The base is CC's Nail-Robi which is a deep purple blue. Very pigmented and better yet it's a one coater. It has a normal consistency making application that easy.
I do love this base but it sometimes feel like a crime to leave bases like that empty. So I picked up CC's Something new which I haven't had the chance to try yet. I was looking forward to how this light glitter on dark base would look. These glitter actually look better in the bottle though. Just look at it, it's like snow in a bottle but overall everything together looks okay.
What do you think of these two polishes? Do you know of any other glitter polishes like so?

This post will be dedicated to a bright red glitter from China Glaze. I remember this being my go to red glitter polish back then but as I started getting myself more and more reds this polish was slowly forgotten. It's nice to bring it back out from time to time.
Here is China Glaze's Ring in the red. I did nothing other than using this polish as a full manicure with two coats and a top coat to seal everything up. I couldn't think of what to do to give it some edge whilst not stealing the spotlight from it so I kept it plain.

Going to make things stripy and glitter with this manicure
The base I'd decided on was Essie's Absolutely shore which I might have blogged about somewhere in the past but I can't say for definite.
Essie's AS is a light sea foam green but my photo editing may have washed out that little bit of colour in this polish. The photo below shows AS at two coats.
For this manicure:
- Apply one coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's protein base coat.)
- Apply two coats of Essie's Absolitely Shore as the base.
- With some nail vinyls apply it vertically on the index and pinkie finger nail.
- Using Essie's Going incognito - an emerald green apply over the index and pinkie finger nail, wait a few seconds before peeling the nail vinyls to avoid the polish 'spilling'.
- Layer China Glaze's Tinsel Town on the middle and ring finger nail.
- Seal with one coat of a matte top coat. (I used China Glaze's Matte Magic.)
Hmm, the index and pinkie really makes me think of a watermelon but I'm still 50/50 with the overall look.

10 minutes before it hits Thursday so can I say this post still qualifies for Pink Wednesday? Haha
Woo. Really like the base.
For this manicure:
- Apply one coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's protein base coat.)
- Apply two coats of Nails Inc's Upper Cheyne row - a muted pink
- Drip the following polishes in water in the order you like:
Nails Inc's Pont street mews - a cerise pink
Nails Inc's Bruton street - a dusty pink nude
Nails Inc's Upper cheyne row - Wait until the polish dries on the surface on the water, carefull pick it up with tweezers and place on the middle finger nail. Using nail clippers or scissors cut off the excess. Do the same for the ring finger nail.
- Using Novello Street - a silver glitter, apply over the index and pinkie finger nail.
- Seal with a matte top coat and leave to dry. The one I used was China Glaze's matte magic.
Clearly messed up at the tips of my nails but my watermarbles are quite a hit and miss sometimes.

I'm still not sick of these sort of blues yet. It's just darkish-ly awesome? I'm not sure how to say it in a better way!
Let me the base first. Nails Inc's Old bond street which is a purple-blue at two coats. Now that I look at it it would've been looking at its best with three coats. If there wasn't other plans to do a design on top I'd definitely suggest three coats.
For this manicure:
- Apply one coat of your preferred base coat (I used Essie's protein base coat.)
- Apply two coats of Nails Inc's Old bond street. Three for full opacity if you don't plan to start doodling a design over the top.
- With a thin striping brush and a white draw horiontal and vertical lines on the middle and ring finger nails. Next, draw diagonal lines from right to left and wait for it to dry.
If a brush is too tricky for you to draw the lines with, alternatively you can use those nail art pens. Barry M does some which are quite easy to use. - Start colouring in the triangles on the middle and ring finger nail with the following polishes:
Nails Inc's Upper cheyne row - A muted pink
Nails Inc's Showfield street - A periqinkle blue
Nails Inc's Kensington palace gardens - Peachy coral - After colouring in go over the lines again with the white.
- With Nails Inc's Novello Street - Silver glitter, apply over the index and pinkie finger nail
- Seal with one coat of your preferred top coat. (I use INM's Out the door top coat.)
Well, the design didn't come out as good as the others I've seen floating around on Instagram because there's more of the white than the colours.
No worries. Next time will be a better try.

Look here! This post is a girly glittery one. Do excuse this manicure though because I had some air bubble problems going on . Here's Nails Inc's Bow street layered over just a basic white because it was nice to let the colours stand out on a simple base.
Bow street is full of pink, light pink and purple hexagon glitters in what seems like a lightly tinted pink base because the white didn't look as crisp after applying it over.
I think this is one of them polishes that looks much prettier in the bottle. I expected a bit too much from this one, it's not bad though. Application needed a bit more effort with having to manually position the glitter after applying each stroke unless you're happy with keeping things a bit patchy. The colour combination of the glitters look perfect though, that was definitely what got me most excited to try it out.

Not so long ago my friend recently visited Japan and as souvenirs he bought me back some Japanese branded nail polishes. Yes he's a he and he did quite a good job with this polish.
Looking from the bottle the shade looks pretty much like a dark midnight blue glitter but turns out the base is pretty sheer. It did turn out a few shades lighter than the bottle but I do think these sort of blue glitters look nice.
Because of the sheer base you do need at least 2-3 coats and unlike most other glitters the clean up process was a lot easier. Usually there'd be random specks of glitter sitting around my cuticles but I didn't seem to notice any.
I'm not quite familiar with the brand but just the colour itself looks pretty nice. Have you heard of Mpetit before?

I've kept my nails unpolished during Easter whilst waiting for my nail to form the right shape but thank gosh I had some manicures done previously and the next one just about fits Easter with its sweet colour.
Here is a single chevron negative space mani with Misa's Double dutch which is a lavender pink. I layered it with China Glaze's Techno which is a mix of different sized holographic silver glitters.
Only after looking at the photos closely now I just realised that there were some air bubbles more visible on my middle nail. It did feel good to wear some of my old polishes though. I still remember Techno being one of the holographic glitters I liked to pick out more often than the others.
What is/are your favourite holographic glitters? May be a little late to ask but everyone had a nice Easter? ;)

Unless it's a mix of different glitters in one polish I rarely find myself wearing a bar glitter top coat and this would be the first time I'm doing so. They're just not as pretty as the normal ones and after wearing this manicure I'm still 50/50 about the whole look. If you're wondering why I even own this polish if bar glitters are not even close to being favourites, well, it was limited edition for Christmas! I just didn't get around to wearing it for the festive season.
Since the glitters are gold I went for a darker base with Barry M's Watermelon so that the glitters could shine better. I did two coats of the Limited edition F polish but had to work the brush a bit to reposition the glitters to make everything look even.
